Savannah, Georgia: Mini-Guide

Savannah is easily my favorite city in the Southeast, and honestly one of my faves in the US! The food is incredible, you can get cocktails to-go while you stroll the picturesque city squares, listen to live music, learn about the cities deep history, and stay out till 2am dancing at bars all in the same day! Fun fact, I actually had my bachelorette party in Savannah before I got married, although when I visit now my nights end closer to 9pm-10pm instead of 2am…

I’d spend at least 2-3 nights, a perfect weekend getaway any season!

Where to Stay

Savannah’s accommodation options range from boutique style hotels to 1920’s renovated guest houses that feel like you’ve stepped back in time a bit. No matter what you choose, I’d make sure you’re within walking distance to Forsyth Park and/or the Riverfront as most things are concentrated in those areas. Uber is also easy to find around Savannah if you stay a bit further and don’t want to walk!

They are listed roughly from least-to-most expensive.

What To-Do

Savannah has a charm to it that truly can’t be missed! Between the gridded squares lined with ancient live oaks and overflowing Spanish moss you’ll find countless benches to sit and have a peach sangria, couples taking engagement photos, and tours expanding on Savannah’s rich and complex history. I’d make sure to take some tours, but also have time to stroll and enjoy the slower pace of Savannah.

Where to Eat

Savannah’s food scene is one of the best in the South. You can find everything from incredible soul food, delicious vegan restaurants, authentic Nepalese (my fave!), steaming dumplings, to crafty cocktails at speakeasy style bars. I could probably list 30 places, but I’ll list some of my favorite dishes at these restaurants! If you get nothing else, make sure to get a maple cinnamon bun from The Paris Market & brunch at Collins Quarter in Forsyth Park!
