Myrtle Beach, SC: Mini-Guide

I grew up in the Carolina’s. As a kid we went to Myrtle Beach regularly, so you can imagine how shocked I was to return as an adult and discover there’s a whole other side of Myrtle Beach! I was blown away by Myrtle Beach this time around as a stunning beach destination with cute streets, vibey cafes, and pristine beaches.

I stayed in the Surfside area which was SO cute and felt very local compared to central Myrtle Beach, and its only a 15 minute drive from the main sites.

What To Do

Myrtle Beach is an ideal beach spot for somewhere you can relax on the beach, but also have options for activities in the evenings or on rainy days. It’s known as the mini-golf capital of the world for a reason!! No matter what you do you’ve gotta make time for a round of putt-putt. You can go to themed places like the TikTok famous Mt Atlanticus Minotaur, or the more modern Popstroke!

Where to Stay

There’s TONS of hotel options in Myrtle Beach. You can find large family friendly resorts with lazy rivers (this was my favorite thing here as a kid!) or smaller more relaxed hotels on the southern and northern areas. Where you stay totally depends on the vibe you’re looking for, but it’s totally reasonable to find great places for <$100/night!
